SCS Cyrus Email Migration

In fall 2016, SCS Computing Facilities began a multi-phased project to retire SCS email services. The decision to retire the SCS Exchange and Cyrus service aligns with the strategy to remove duplicate services and provide modern email solutions that meet the need and usage patterns of the SCS community.

The SCS Exchange Server was retired as a result of the first phase of this project. The current phase focuses on the decommission of the SCS Cyrus (IMAP) server.

Migrate your SCS Cyrus email

Individual SCS Cyrus mailboxes can migrate to one of the Andrew supported email solutions (Exchange or G Suite @ CMU) using the new SCS Email Migration Tool.

The SCS self-service migration process was designed to fit the needs of the general customer population, but it may not be ideal for customers with significantly larger than average mailboxes. We have identified mailboxes that are not suited for a self-service migration process and administratively prohibited them from using the self-migration service. If you are not able to use the SCS self-migration interface or have questions about your SCS email account status, please submit a ticket.
