The mission of SCS Computing Facilities' Ctrl+Alt+Elite Internship Program is to provide the opportunity to local young women to both learn about the Information Technology field and gain valuable work experience at one of the top computer science schools in the world.

As part of this program, representatives of SCS Computing Facilities will reach out to a local high school to inquire about young women that are interested in pursuing a career in Information Technology. Two students will be chosen by the school to participate in a paid 8-week program where they will be working directly with the SCS Help Desk. Throughout the program, each week will have a different IT- related theme and will see the student working with various members of the SCS Computing Facilities Group.

In addition to learning about the IT Field, the student will have the benefit of learning about the professional work environment. Topics to be covered regarding working in a professional environment include goal setting, evaluation, and receiving guidance from a professional mentor. Students will also gain valuable experience in workplace skills such as teamwork, time management, and communication. Once the students complete the program, they will receive a final evaluation, recommendation letter(s) as needed, and potentially an invitation to return the following summer to continue their work.
