Email, Calendaring, and Collaboration

For our email, we leverage Andrew Computing Service's Microsoft Exchange and Google G Suite. SCS-associated people preserve a unique email address in addition to the Andrew email account aliases that are provided to all students, faculty and staff.

Computing Services offers Microsoft Exchange and Google Gmail email alternatives.

CMU Exchange Email Service

CMU Microsoft Exchange is a locally hosted email and calendar solution offering mobile, webmail and advanced email features. To connect your email client to you CMU Exchange, visit the Email Client Configuration page.

If you would like to access your Andrew Exchange account from a desktop or laptop, you will need to configure Outlook. Outlook should already be installed on computers built by SCS Computing Facilities; if Outlook is not installed on your computer, please submit a ticket with SCS Computing Facilities.

CMU Google Email Service

CMU Google Mail is a cloud-based email, calendar, tasks and contacts provided as part of Google's "all-in-one" G Suite solution.  To connect your email client to you CMU Google Mail, visit the Email Client Configuration page.

Collaboration Tools

CMU uses Cisco Jabber as the primary means of instant messaging for our community. Cisco Jabber is an application that allows you to communicate, from anywhere, from desktop and mobile devices by instant messaging, voice, voicemail, and video. It gives you the functionality of a telephone handset through an application available for Mac, PC, Apple iOS, and Android OS.  For more information about Jabber and CMU Unified Communications, visit the Computing Services Unified Communications page.
