Wean Hall Machine Room Planned Power Outage

START DATE: Friday, May 16, 2025 at 4:00 AM

END DATE: Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Noon (estimated)

SERVICES AFFECTED: Systems hosted in Wean Hall Machine Room (MR-A)

DETAILS:

FMS will shut off all power in Wean Hall to replace a transformer on Friday, May 16, 2025 through Sunday, May 18, 2025. As a result, systems hosted in the Wean Hall Machine Room will not be available during that time.

Action Required

If you have a system hosted in the Wean Hall machine room (MR-A), follow the instructions below:

• Servers: We recommend that you perform a shutdown prior to 4:00 AM on Friday, May 16, 2025. Systems that are still powered on after 4:00 AM will be manually powered off by SCSCF staff.
  
  
• Clusters: No action is needed. Unix Engineering will power off all clusters.

Critical Systems Relocation

If your system cannot be powered down for multiple days, SCSCF can temporarily relocate eligible servers to the SCS Gates and Hillman Centers machine room.
