Wean Hall will experience a planned power outage on Saturday, May 16 from 6:00 AM to noon while Facilities Management Services (FMS) installs a new breaker as part of broader power improvements to the SCS Data Centers.
What to Expect
- Most wall outlets in Wean Hall will lose power during the outage.
- The network and WiFi in Wean Hall will likely be unavailable.
- Wean Mini Data Center MR-B (Room 3103) will lose power for the duration of the outage.
- Wean Data Center MR-A (Room 3611) will remain fully operational. No service interruptions are expected, and the environment will be monitored throughout the maintenance window.
What You Should Do (Machines in Room 3103 Only)
If you host systems in the Wean Mini Data Center MR-B (Room 3103), please:
- Save your work before leaving on Friday, May 15.
- Shut down machines in advance.
- Plan for systems located in Wean Mini Data Center MR-B to be unavailable during the outage window.
- SCS Operations staff will power on systems once building power is restored. If your machine does not come back online, please contact SCS Operations at 412-268-2608.
