Microsoft Windows Support

Windows 10 is Microsoft's latest Operating System. Released in 2015 and is the successor to Windows 7 (which ends support on January 14, 2020).

SCS Computing Facilities (SCSCF) offers support for Windows that includes domain-based management, security patching, a baseline software offering along with support for issues relating to the operating system and its functionality. The operating system is deployed as part of our standard build and is tested for compatibility with our select recommended computer hardware.

We also support older versions of Windows when required by software compatibility and other special situations. Please refer to our operating system support lifecycle page for more information.

The SCS Baseline Software Configuration includes the following:
  • Microsoft Windows 10 (Enterprise Edition)
  • Adobe Acrobat Reader
  • Ghostscript
  • Ghostview
  • MIT Kerberos for Windows
  • Microsoft Office 2016
  • Mozilla FireFox
  • Mozilla Thunderbird
  • PuTTY
  • Microsoft Windows Defender
  • WinSCP
  • X-Win32
  • Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client (mobile or off-site hosts only)
  • Adobe Acrobat X Pro (on request only)

SCS software supported Windows systems are managed via SCCM and have access to software deployment stores.

Windows installation media is available for supported SCSCF Computers. For more information, please submit a ticket.
