SERVICES AFFECTED: Instance Manager/Kerberos Password Changes
DETAILS: On Wednesday, April 19, 2023, SCS Computing Facilities will perform maintenance on the CS.CMU.EDU Kerberos authentication servers (KDCs) to apply routine software updates. These servers provide authentication for UNIX logins, WebISO, and most SCS services. During this period, we'll also be cutting over to new instance manager servers and AFS will be rekeyed, as will some cross-realm relationships.
Normal Kerberos authentication services are expected to remain available throughout the maintenance period. However, Kerberos administrative services, including the Instance Manager, password-changing services, and UNIX system installation, will be unavailable during this period.
