macOS 10.14 Mojave - End of Life
Support Ending November 30, 2021
SCS Computing Facilities (SCSCF) has placed Mojave macOS 10.14 in containment and will remove software support for computers still running Mojave on November 30, 2021.
In November 2020, Apple released their current operating system macOS 11 Big Sur. In keeping with Apple's release cycle, we anticipate, macOS 10.14 Mojave will no longer receive security updates starting in November 2021.
As a result, we are phasing out software support for all computers running macOS 10.14 Mojave and will end support on November 30, 2021.
What do I need to do?
To ensure our ability to continue to support your computer after November 30, 2021, please select one of the options listed below: If you have an SCS-supported computer still running macOS 10.14 Mojave, you have the following options:
- Upgrade via Self Service
If your Mac meets the hardware requirements set by Apple, the macOS Big Sur installation package will be available through Self Service on your SCS-supported Mac. - Request an upgrade performed by SCSCF Technicians
If you would like to request an upgrade to Big Sur performed by our technicians, or do not see the macOS Big Sur installation package in Self Service, please submit an upgrade request. - Remove SCSCF Software Support
If you would like to continue to run Mojave without SCS software support or you are no longer using this computer, please submit a request to remove software support from your computer before November 30, 2021.
Please Note: If you do not to upgrade your Mojave macOS 10.14 computer, it will not receive security patches or functionality updates. Unsupported computers limit our ability to help you. SCSCF software support charges will be canceled automatically as of December 1, 2021.
What does removing software support mean?
Upon removal from our Software Support service, your Mac will no longer have access to the SCS Software Store. This is how your Mac receives updates for existing software such as ESET antivirus or Microsoft Office.
Your Mac will no longer get automatic configuration updates. These are updates that determine how your Mac works within the SCS environment.
Also remember that once Software Support is removed, you will no longer have access to our PC Engineering support staff for software and operating system problems on your Mac.
Expect Catalina support to end in 2022
With Apple's expected release of a new macOS version next year, Catalina will be the third oldest version and will cease to be supported next year. When this occurs, SCSCF will stop providing software support for all computers running macOS 10.15 Catalina on November 30, 2022.
