Mac Purvis III is a Support Technician at the SCS Help Desk, serving as one of the public faces of the Computing Facilities, helping with a myriad of areas; from basic troubleshooting to equipment loans to administrative services for SCS accounts. The help desk also serves as an intermediary for various departments and a general facility drop-off point.

Mac comes to CMU from a varied background. He attended the Art Institute of Pittsburgh studying Digital Media Production, later living in California and working in the film industry. He still works on award-winning productions in the local arts community. For the last decade, Mac served as a specialist and trainer for Apple Inc. both locally and at the corporate level.
