Bio
Christian Olmeda leads our Technical Communication Platforms team, providing web content management systems and resources, communications and documentation to the computing organization and across SCS.
A bilingual writer (English and Spanish), Chris holds a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree in Creative Writing, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Creative Writing and has more than 20 years of experience as a technologist in roles such as system engineer, system administrator and information systems consultant.
His experience includes organizations such as the American Cancer Society, Computer Sciences Corporation, Textron (Bell Hellicopter), Ingalls among others. He loves writing, music production and is a multi-instrumentalist. Chris has served in multiple groups and initiatives at Carnegie Mellon University, including as a founding member of the School of Computer Science Dean's Staff Advisory Committee, as a member of the first CMU Digital Accessibility Cohort, Ditigal Accessibility Workshop presenter at the first CMU Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) and is also the co-founder of the Latine Faculty and Staff Alliance, the very first Latino/Hispanic-focused CMU Employee Resource Group.
